“It’s so this time of year when we see these events now we definitely don’t always get this many you know we’ve had some years where we may only get a handful of maybe really sick turtles that also happened to get too cold and so they were more prone to cold stunning … With the over 1,100 right now we’re currently at the third busiest event for this facility. We’ve had one year that had 1,800 that was back in 2010 and then we had about 1,200 in 2018 so depending on what the next few days do if we get a few stragglers, we’ll see if we get bumped up for second place.”
