City Council unanimously authorized a Transient Occupancy Tax sharing agreement with the Oakland Roots and Soul to support hosting a World Cup team in Alameda. “FIFA estimates a team base camp could attract 60,000 to 80,000 visitors and 30,000 hotel nights,” reports Karin K. Jensen.
