For the past four years, Alumni Distinguished Graduate Professor of Science Education Sarah Carrier has been collaborating with partners from Horizon Research, Inc. and the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences on a grant-funded project to provide elementary school teachers with curricular support and professional development in the implementation of participatory science that align with existing instructional goals and science standards. This work has most recently led to the publication of an article entitled “An Emerging Theory of School-Based Participatory Science.”
